The efforts of the Economicand Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been lauded by several international experts as being an example for other African countries to learn from.

Speaking at the ongoing 7th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption holding in Vienna Austria, the Commissioner, Sierra Leone Anti-Corruption Agency, Ady Macauley stated that the EFCC was not only “formidable, but a pride to African States.

“My men were in Nigeria a fortnight ago to understudy your operations, I must confess, we have a lot to lear in investigation, prosecution and asset recovery“

Also commending Nigerias efforts was the Head of International Collaboration, National Anti-Corruption Commission, Saudi Arabia, Dr Nassar Abaalkhail who met with the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

Abaalkhail commented on Nigerias efforts at loot recovery as being remarkable. “From what Ive heard, Nigerias effort at asset tracing is remarkable. Nigeria is indeed a role model for countries, including developed countries. We have so much to learn from Nigeria“
