Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed all public and private schools in the state to resume for second term 2020 /2021 academic session with effect from Monday 18th January, 2021.

The governor's directive is contained in a statement on Friday, by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo.

Mrs. Adefisayo said this was in line with the Federal Government’s resolution after reaching a consensus with relevant stakeholders.

“I want to convey the approval of Mr Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that all public and private schools in Lagos State can still resume for 2nd Term 2020 /2021 academic session with effect from Monday 18th January, 2021, the statement read in part.

The Federal Government had earlier directed all schools to resume on January 18, 2021.

The decision was reached after a meeting with stakeholders, including Governors, Commissioners of Education, Proprietors and heads of institutions, staff unions and students.
