Nigeria has recorded 179 new cases of the novel Coronavirus bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 60834.

Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Wednesday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed that no COVID-19 related death was recorded in the last 24 hours under review.

The Health Agency said the  new cases were reported from 13 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 116 were recorded in Lagos, 20 in Anambra, 9 in FCT and 9 in Oyo state.

Other states with new cases include, Rivers-9 Delta-3 Nasarawa-3 Edo-2 Kaduna-2 Ogun-2 Plateau-2 Ekiti-1 Osun-1.

NCDC said till date, 60,834 infections have been confirmed, 52,143 treated and discharged and 1,116 deaths recorded in 6 state and the FCT.
