
Nigeria has recorded 155 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 66,383.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Sunday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded one COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said, the new cases were reported from 12 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 60 were recorded in Lagos, 37 in Katsina and 35 in Kaduna state.
Other state with new cases include, FCT-6 Ogun-4 Edo-3 Kwara-3 Rivers-2 Kano-2 Jigawa-1 Oyo-1 Taraba-1.
NCDC Said till date, 66,383 infections have been confirmed, 62,076 treated and discharged and 1,167 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
The centre disclosed that it had activated a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre at Level III to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
The agency, therefore, advised Nigerians to continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols to stay safe, stressing that the Coronavirus pandemic was not over yet.
