dexter baby,

A mother who had an Intra-Uterine Device implanted into her to prevent her from becoming pregnant did not just get pregnant, her baby was actually born along with the coil that should have prevented his conception in the first instance.

The mother, Mrs. Lucy Hellein was fitted with the 99 per cent effective contraceptive in August last year, but she discovered that she was pregnant just before Christmas 2016.

When she visited the hospital, she was told that she was already four and a half months pregnant, suggesting she had conceived just days after it was planted inside her uterus.

Her obstetrician had told her that the coil had probably fallen out, because it wasn’t showing up on an ultrasound.

Both the doctor and the patient did not know that the coil had been hiding behind Hellein’s placenta. And her baby had been born with it.

The new mum said, “’Dexter was definitely meant to be. His original due date was May 4th and even the doctor said ‘the force was strong with this one.’

“Although he wasn’t planned, my family and I feel incredibly blessed.”

A picture posted on her Facebook page showed Dexter Tyler clutching the device, giving the impression he had been born holding it.

But it has transpired that the image was staged, and the newborn was posing with the contraceptive.
To prevent another unexpected pregnancy like this one, she had her Fallopian tubes removed.
