The Securities and Exchange Commission has started verifying claims of 4,160 unpaid investors of the illegal investment scheme organised by Dantata Success and Profitable Company.

SEC had in February sealed off the premises of Dantata Success and Profitable Company in Kano for engaging in illegal capital market activities, saying its investment operations fell within fund management without registration with the commission

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately arrest former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his recent remarks on insecurity in the country.

The former President on Monday made public a letter he wrote to Presient Buhari, where he raised concerns over the security situation in the country and warned of a likely genocide in Nigeria except the government takes seriously, its job of leading the country.

Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two farmers in a renewed clash between Usumtong and Ebom communities, in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Public Relations Officer of the Command, Irene Ugbo, said the police is engaging the communities leaders in order to resolve the conflicts.

“We are aware of the killings and the Commissioner of Police has deployed men there. The community leaders have also been invited to meet with the Commissioner of Police for further deliberation. For now, the area is calm.”

Mother of former Super Eagles striker and Coach, Samson Siasia has been kidnapped. 

She was taken away by unidentified armed men, on Monday morning,  from her home in Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa state.

This is the second time that 76-year old Ogere Siasia will be kidnapped. 

In November 2015, she was kidnapped and released 12 days after.

The Nigerian Army has announced the redeployment of top generals.

According to a statement released by the Army spokesperson, Sagir Musa, on Sunday evening, one of the affected include Lt. Gen. L.O. Adeosun who was last week promoted by President Muhammadu Buhari.

General Adeosun is now moved to become the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) from he previous post of Chief of Training and Operations.

Others affected include some major-generals and brigadier-generals.

To what extent did exam malpractice impact on the corruption level in Nigeria?  Or is it right to assume that most highly corrupt people in Nigeria 'learnt' corruption from 'expo'?

Most of the highly placed corrupt individuals are seen to have carved their teeth in corruption at an early stage through examination malpractice.

Riyad Mahrez rifled in a stoppage-time free-kick to earn Algeria a dramatic 2-1 victory over three-time champions Nigeria on Sunday and set up a rematch with Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Algeria led through a first-half own goal by William Troost-Ekong before Nigeria equalised with an Odion Ighalo penalty awarded after a VAR review.

However, as extra time looked necessary, Mahrez blasted in from 20 yards with the last kick of the match to send the Desert Foxes through to their first final since lifting the trophy for the only time in 1990.

Nigerian army has declared 5 soldiers wanted for allegedly robbing some 'Very Important Persons'  at gunpoint.

Army Public Relations Officer attached to 8 Division Army Headquarters, Sokoto, Lt. Arigu who confirmed the incident says the soldiers were detailed for a legitimate escort duty.

According to him, Investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances that led to the incident as well as to arrest the  officers.

Prof. Wole Soyinka, believes that Nigeria's problems are beyond the capacity of the federal government to solve, and stressed that the government has failed the citizens.

The Nobel Laureate as reported by Channels Television, made the statement while hosting a group of students on his 85th birthday celebration.

The playwright lamented that the violence caused by herdsmen, indiscriminate grazing of cattle and the destruction of farmlands are evidence of a clueless government Nigeria has presently.

Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu is in Ilorin, Ondo state to condole with the family  of Olufunke Olakurin, who was killed on Saturday by yet to be identified gunmen, 

Tinubu was accompanied by former governor of Osun state, Bisi Akande,  Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy to the home of the deceased father, Reuben Fasoranti, who is the leader of Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere.

He said there is the need to deploy more security men on the nation's highways and cautioned politicians not  to politicise the killing.
