The United Nations Population Fund has set up non-traditional condom outlets around refugee settlements in Cross River.

The intervention is to increase access to condoms in communities that have refugees.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the exercise, which was carried out in Ikom, was targeted at Obanliku, Boki, Akamkpa and Etung Local Government Areas of the state.

Mother of Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, says she is not sure whether her son is dead or alive and that the last time she ever set eyes on him was 15 years ago.

Madam Fatima told Voice of America Hausa, in an interview,  that since her son met with Mohammed Yusuf, founder of the sect, he has stayed away from her.

Former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has officially resigned his membership of the people's democratic party, PDP.

This is coming amidst report that he is planning to return to the Labour Party

In a three paragraphs letter addressed to the Secretariat of the PDP and a copy made available to journalists, Dr Mimiko said he took the decision because of some well thought-out personal reasons.

The Lagos State Government today arraigned the Danish man, Peter Nielsen who allegedly killed his wife and daughter.

He was arraigned before Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile of the Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere.

The suspect appeared before the court on two counts of murder, an offence contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos state, Adeniji Kazeem led the state prosecution team at Wednesday’s proceedings.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has suspended indefinitely its recently impeached Chief Whip, Akinniyi Sunday representing Ikere Constituency 2 for, among others, allegedly sleeping on duty. 

Chairman, House Committee on Information, Samuel Omotoso said the suspension followed a series of allegations leveled against the Lawmaker by the House Leader of Business after investigation by Ayodele Fajemilehin led committee of the House of Assembly.

Nigerian man Olasunkanmi Esho,42, who lives in Chicago, has shot his Cameroonian wife, Bourk Esho, 33, and their 7-year-old daughter, Olivia Esho, and went ahead to kill himself. 

The Darien Police Department says officers responding to a call about shots fired in a home of the Pharmasist in the 7500-block of Farmingdale Drive, found the bodies about 1 a.m. Sunday.

They are survived by their 13-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. The 8-year-old reportedly died in the arms of her 13-year-old brother.

Former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, says he would have arrested former President Olusegun Obasanjo if he was Nigeria’s president. 

Comrade Oshiomole, who is vying for the office of the National Chairman of APC,  made the comment when he spoke at the June 12th investiture that held at the state house Abuja.

Spanish Football Federation has sacked the coach of the National Team, Julen Lopetegui, who was recently announced as the new coach for Spanish club, Real Madrid.

President of the SFF, Luis Rubiales, said in a press conference that the Association got to know that Lopetegui will be leaving the national team at the end of the world cup, just five minutes before it was announced by Real Madrid.

Justice Adebukola Banjoko of the Federal Capital High Court, has sentenced former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, to 14 years in prison for criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of funds.

Dariye was charged for allegedly diverting N1.1bn while in office between 1999 and 2007.

 Justice Banjoko, in  a six-and-a-half-hour judgment convicted the ex-governor  on 15 out the 23 count charge of criminal breach of trust against punishable under  the Penal Code 

Eight of the twenty three charges were thrown out for lack of sufficient evidence.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the President of North Korea  Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump of the United States of America on the historic achievement made at the “Kim and Trump Summit,” held on Tuesday in Singapore.

A statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tope Elias-Fatile says the success of the historic Summit is a demonstration of commitment by the relevant parties towards de-escalation of tension in the Korean Peninsula.
