The Federal Government of Nigeria has denied agreeing to a N30,000 minimum wage as claimed by the labour union. 

Minister of Labour and employment, Chris Ngige states this Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba,  on Monday said the Federal Government will soon be announcing the new figure after the tri-partite committee ended its negitiations.

Mr Fatai Oyedele popularly known as Diekola has collapsed in court. Diekola, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State together with Segun Adekilekun and Sikiru Lawal were brought to court on Wednesday after they were arrested by the police before the governorship rerun on September 27.

As reported by Punch, Diekola who has a plaster on his hand slumped after the accused persons were called into the dock.

The All Progressives Congress will not have candidates for the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections in 2019. The reason is because the party failed to meet up with the time allowed for the conduct of party primaries. 

A letter signed by the commission's acting Secretary, Okechukwu Ndeche, said the electoral time table provided that primaries be conducted between 18th of August and 7th of October. But APC failed to meet up with the time.

Some leaders of the PDP today, Friday, marched to the head quarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, with a demand for the commission to declare its candidate during the Osun state governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the polls.

The election which was conducted two weeks ago had the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, as winner.

The protesters were however dispersed by the police teargas as they marched on the Head Quarters of the Nigerian Police force.

Even if you achieve all those and more than anyone can ever imagine but fail in realising that you are not the first neither will you  be the last governor of Lagos state, you may have lost everything and prepared yourself to be cast into the bin of detested governor of all times.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has conceded defeat and congratulated the winner of the Lagos state APC governorship primary, Babajide Sonwoolu.

In a state broadcast on Wednesday afternoon that lasted for about five minutes, the governor urged residents to support the candidate of the party.

He thanked the  National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, for the opportunity given him to serve the state.

Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, will be addressing a press conference this afternoon.

The press conference comes a day after the APC governorship primaries in the state which Babajide Sanwoolu won.

Gov. Ambode on Sunday, addressed  a press conference where he made uncharitable comments about his challenger for the APC ticket. 

Mr. Ambode described Mr. Sanwoolun as 'unfit for the office he is pushing for'.  He said the eventual winner of the APC governorship primary, was arrested in US for spending fake dollar notes in a club.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities  has alleged that the Federal Government has concluded plans to hike tuition fees in Public varsities beginning from N350,000 per session.

The Ibadan Zone of ASUU, through its Zonal Coordinator, Dr Ade Adejumo told journalists that this was the position of the leader of Federal Government Team, led by Dr Wale Babalakin which the Union has resisted and asked Nigerians to join in the struggle.

Confusion reigns in the APC governorship primary scheduled to hold in Lagos state on Tuesday.  The panel appointed by the party's National Working Committee arrived the state on Monday evening, signaling that the election will hold as intended.

But by Tuesday afternoon, the panel says, voting is yet to commence, after election was completed at different wards over two hours ago. 

According to the panel, the primary couldn't have been carried out when electoral materials meant for the exercise are yet to be distributed.
