A British Airways plane, BA that landed around 6pm on Sunday September 23, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos was unattended to with the passengers trapped inside the plane for about 55 mins after which the aircraft was toed to the gate by Nigeria Aviation Handling Company NAHCO.

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has stated confidently that PDP will win in Osun election come Thursday September 27. He also implored Senator Omisore to support Senator Adeleke to ensure Osun state is delivered from the present Government.

As tweeted by Atiku Abubakar;

"I am confident PDP will win in Osun, no matter the ulterior motive of APC.I call on Senator Omisore to remember the PDP, which believed in him and gave him it's ticket in 2014. I urge him to join with all who want to deliver Osun from negative change aqnd support @IsiakaAdeleke1"

There were indications in Abuja on Sunday that the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party might strike a deal with a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore,  in a bid to win the state rerun governorship election slated for Thursday, investigations by our correspondent have revealed.

The APC has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies and other critical stakeholders over the smooth conduct of the Osun state governorship election. 

A statement signed by the Acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, also commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration which it said, has continually exhibited its commitment to ensuring that elections are more peaceful, transparent, credible and acceptable.

Nigeria’s National Assembly has postponed it’s resumption scheduled for the 25th of September.

The two-weeks postponement means that then parliamentarians will return to duty on the 9th of October.

Clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori,  in a statement addressed to the lawmakers, said plenary will commence at 10am on the said date.

The Delhi Police on Saturday said they have busted an international drug trafficking syndicate that allegedly smuggled heroin into India from Afghanistan and supplied it to various Indian cities as well as abroad. 
 
Two Afghan nationals and a Nigerian man were arrested in south Delhi with 5kg of heroin, worth Rs 25 crore, and 4,200 in US dollars.
 
The police identified the arrested men as 40-year-old Esmatullah, 22-year-old Khalilullah, both from Kandahar in Afghanistan, and 37-year-old Victor Osondu from Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission's declaration of the Osun State Governorship election as inconclusive.

 

The party says its candidate, Ademola Adeleke, who it said is in clear lead with the 254,698 votes it garnered, should be immediately declared the winner of Saturday's polls.

 

A statement signed by the party's national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, says INEC's decision is in violation of the constitution.

Local Government workers in Kogi State have applauded the state government for its decision to increase their monthly percentage salary from 30% to 54% with effect from this month.

The state chapters of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Nigeria Union of Teachers and the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees gave the commendation in a statement in Lokoja on Sunday.

It said that the decision to raise the bar was commendable and urged the government to take cognizance of the percentages of salary yet to be paid.

Wife of late reggae legend, Ras Kimono is dead.

Efemena Okedi died in the early hours of Sunday in her Magodo-Isheri home in Lagos.

She was the third and closest wife to the late reggae legend.

Premium Times reports that the Copyright Society of Nigeria, confirmed the death through a telephone conversation. 
Head of the society, Chibueze Okereke said  "Efe and Ras Kimono were soul mates-it was impossible to see Kimono without seeing Efe by his side. She managed Kimono’s band and was an artiste turned artiste manager,” he noted.
