Evidence of his sterling performances for the Gunners, was the rating as one of his team's  best players after Arsenal's Europa League victory over FC Vorskla Poltava last Thursday. 

He also shone like a million starts in Sunday's Premier League encounter with Everton, where he came as a substitute for strike, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.  Arsenal won the match with two unreplied goals

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Olorunnimbe Mamora, as the managing Director of the Federal Inland Waterways Authority. 

A letter signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Sabiu Zakari, and dated 24th September, 2018, said the appointment is with immediate effect.

Sahara Reporters say former Head of State, Abdulsalam Abubakar and Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, are currently meeting with Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission , ahead of the rerun election in Osun State scheduled for Thursday.

The meeting, which still has very sketchy details, is holding behind closed doors at Enugu Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has begun recruitment and physical screening for about 324,000 applicants who applied for 4,000 jobs in the agency.

The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, made the disclosure when he paid a visit to the two screening centres in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday.

The centres are the Sani Abacha Barracks, Asokoro and the National Stadium Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the screening was for various cadres, including Officers, Marshal Inspectorates and Road Marshal Assistants.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were conspicuously absent from the FIFA Awards held in London on September 24 where Croatian captain, Luka Modric was awarded the FIFA footballer of the year.

This did not go down well with former Real Madrid and Juventus manager, Fabio Capello who stated that it is lack of respect for the stars to boycott the award that they dominated for a decade. He said;

uka Modric has been crowned the FIFA footballer of the year at the FIFA Best Awards held at London Royal Festival Hall. 

The 33 year old Croatian star who also plays for Real Madrid defeated fellow finalists, Christiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah bringing to an end, the long dominance of Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo who have won the award for a decade with each of them reigning for 5 years.

Modric’s excellent performance in 2018 saw him win Champions League with Real Madrid and also led Croatia to the world cup Finals though they lost to France.

A British Airways plane, BA that landed around 6pm on Sunday September 23, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos was unattended to with the passengers trapped inside the plane for about 55 mins after which the aircraft was toed to the gate by Nigeria Aviation Handling Company NAHCO.

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has stated confidently that PDP will win in Osun election come Thursday September 27. He also implored Senator Omisore to support Senator Adeleke to ensure Osun state is delivered from the present Government.

The 21 year old Liverpool winger, Sheyi Ojo who is presently on loan to the French Ligue 1 side, Stade Reims has indicated interest in playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria if given the chance.
