For Abia state, it is a battle for the experienced as well as the novice in politics gunning for the governorship position of the state.

These are precarious times for the Ngwa nation of Abia State! Perhaps, no period may have been so critical in the political history of the people than the current time. It is a time of a very delicate decision, a decision that will shape or mar the destiny of the entity for many decades to come. No time will the Ngwa be as careful, cautious and as altruistic as this time. The reason is simple: there are many weapons fashioned by adversaries.

The ongoing cold war between Enugu state Governor, Sullivan Chime, and the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, over who represents Enugu West senatorial district has continued to go from bad to worse.

The situation did not just turn sore, a once beautiful relationship between the gladiators, but has reduced the PDP in Enugu State into shreds of personal and myopic interests.

This may not be news for a lot of people who will ordinarily wave off a conversation on physical appearance as mundane and carnal. But her recent act of nationalism sets the young Courtney aside on a different pedestal.

The immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo has denied a report in a national daily claiming that she had been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission.

A statement signed by the Coordinator of Nwobodo Campaign Organization, Eddie Nnaji, made available to HOMELAND NEWS in Enugu on Tuesday described the report as totally unfounded and mischievous.

The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has  unanimously appointed Anambra State Governor, Wllie Obiano as the Leader and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party to replace the former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi who decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Anyanwu Igbo has called on Igbo sons and daughters resident in Lagos to ensure they obtain the permanent voter card when the distribution commences in the state on Friday. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission had announced that registered voters in Lagos will receive the permanent voter card between the 7th and 9th of November.

The National Emergency Management Agency has donated relief materials worth several millions of naira to three communities devastated by flood in Ohaozora Council Area of Ebonyi State.

Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara and Okposi were victims of violent storm and serious flooding in October and November last year. 

South East zonal coordinator of NEMA Major James Eze while handing over the materials to the chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ogbuefi Akpa urged for transparent distribution to the real victims of the incident.
