Sometime in 2006, (I cannot recollect the exact date or month), some selected editors were invited to a suite in Eko Holiday Inn to have a parley with the then Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. As the then editor of THISDAY, I was also invited. One of the two suspects arrested for the murder of Cletus Onyekwele, a staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Rumuobiakani, Port Harcourt, said they killed him because he was over working them

The two suspected murderers, Kingsley Nwankor and Joseph Francis, were paraded by the Rivers State Police Command last Friday, at the command Headquarters.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki Ahmed said late Cletus Onyekwele was murdered in cold blood in his office at Rumuobiakani, Port Harcourt on 13th day of April 2017.

A clash between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Numan local government area of Adamawa State on Monday night, has left more than 20 people dead. Of this number, more are children.

According to reports, trouble started when a farmer was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The farmers in the community came together and carried out a reprisal attack.

Many of the injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at Numan General Hospital. Residents in the community have fled their homes for fear of another reprisal attack.

Nigeria's top female singer, Tiwa Savage is pregnant for her second child. 

Popular blog, lindaikejisblog.com broke the news this Tuesday evening. 

According to the blog, "last week, the mother of one hinted on social media that 2018 is going to be a serious year for her career 'even if she gets pregnant again'.

Tiwa's first child, Jamil is 2 years and 4 months.

Tiwa in April last year, had a stormy time in her marriage as her husband TeeBillz, opened the door for social media rants between the couple.

Reports say they have since been reconciled.

The family of the slain Ex-defender of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, Izu Joseph, on Tuesday petitioned Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State over 8-month salary and 21 match bonuses owed the deceased by the club.

Recall that Izu who hailed  from Rivers State was holidaying ‎in Bayelsa State, when he was allegedly killed by men of the Nigerian Army after he was alleged to have been found with cultists.

The Army, it was learnt, had marked the area ‘red’.

President Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed to the Senate his decision to withhold his ‎assent to 2 different Bills passed by the National assembly.

The Bills are the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management establishment Bill and the Federal University of Wukari establishment bill.

This was contained in a letter read on the floor of the Senate by President of the Senate Bukola Saraki, at Tuesday's plenary.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the early Tuesday morning suicide bomb blast in a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State as “very cruel and dastardly.”

President Buhari, while commiserating with families of the several victims, government and people of the state, assured that government would do everything required to secure the state from the deadly menace of Boko Haram.

The President enjoined the people in the entire North-east to be more vigilant and report suspicious persons to security agencies in order to avert further attacks on soft targets by the terrorist group.

Robert Mugabe resigned as Zimbabwe’s president on Tuesday, shortly after parliament began an impeachment process to end his nearly four decades of rule.

The 93-year old clung on for a week after an army takeover and expulsion from his own ruling ZANU-PF party, which also told him to leave power.

Wild celebrations broke out at a joint sitting of parliament when Speaker Jacob Mudenda announced Mugabe’s resignation and suspended the impeachment procedure.

At least 30 persons have been killed after a suicide bomber detonated his explosive at a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State, during morning prayers. 

According to the Adamawa State Police Command,  the suicide attack occurred around 5:20am local time, at Kunu Araha, a suburb in Mubi North.

It was allegedly triggered by a yet to be identified teenage boy who set off the suicide vest he was wearing.

Adamawa police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said more than 30 persons lost their lives in the dawn Mosque attack.
