President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday inaugurated a 30-manTripartite National Minimum Wage Committee, calling on the members to come up with a fair and decent wage for Nigerian workers.

Inaugurating the committee in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari said that re-negotiation of a new national minimum wage had become imperative because the existing minimum wage instrument had since expired.

“We all know that the last minimum wage instrument has expired.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of three soldiers during a repel mission against the Boko Haram terror group on Saturday evening.

According to reports, the group had unleashed an attack on Magumeri town in Borno state destroying a clinic, mosque and shops in the town leaving a 5-year-old boy dead from stray bullet and others injured.

An attempt to rob two friends in Katsina state has landed the suspects in trouble as one of the victims overpowered a member of the robbery squad during the robbery attempt and dragged him to the police station.

Reports have it that 20-year-old Danladi Auwalu and Yusuf Auwalu and others attempted to attack one Mati Shehu and Ibrahim Isah who were riding on a motocycle along the Danja/Kano village road in the Danja Local Government Area of Katsina state. Shehu was however able to overpower one of Danladi and eventually dragged him to the police station.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that the
Administration is taking the necessary measures to end the suicide
bombings by Boko Haram terrorists, saying the attacks are like the
last kicks of a dying horse.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Pulaaku Radio in Yola, Adamawa
State, on Sunday, the President, who was represented by the Minister
of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Boko Haram has
been massively degraded and its surviving members put on the run.

First wife of Bilyamin Bello, son of ex-chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was stabbed to death by Maryam Sanda, his second wife, has written a moving tribute for the deceased.

Amina Shagari described Maryam Sanda as a jealous wife and prayed "may Allah link us up in jannah."

Sanda was arraigned on Friday and detained in prison for the murder.

Shagari went down memory lane in recalling how the deceased cared for her.

The resignation of the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, from the APC on Friday has pitched some politicians against one another.

A media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media, Lauretta Onochie said PDP is home for Atiku but likened the fmr. VP's resignation as returning to his vomit. Atiku has not announced that he is not a member of the PDP.

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has lambasted the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for linking him to a N1bn property located at 43 Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja.

The embattled former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, had accused Falana of buying the building which was one of the properties he helped to seize from pension thieves and handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in an automatic ticket to contest in the 2019 presidential election, Orji Uzor Kalu has said.

Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, who spoke with journalists at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Saturday, said the President wanted the APC to explore necessary democratic process by allowing other candidates to contest the party’s presidential primary election.

 “President Buhari as a democrat wants every interested aspirant to be given a chance to test their popularity and exercise their democratic right.
