13 students of Delta State University (DELSU) Abraka have been expelled for exam malpractices and 5 others sent on indefinite suspension for gross misconducts.

A student of Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe in Anambra, Philip Chinedu has reportedly committed suicide. 29 year old Philip who was a 200 level student of the school was found dead hanging on the ceiling fan in his room outside the campus.

According to a fellow student, no suicide note was found on him but it was believed that his actions had to do with his inability to meet up with school fees and other payments.

He was said to have complained to his friends about the high tuition fees and his inability to meet with the deadline.

Premium Times reports that another minister serving in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet has been found to have skipped the mandatory national youth service scheme, an offence that may see him lose his position and earn him jail term.

The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, failed to participate in the NYSC scheme despite graduating from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) at age 25, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report.

Speaker of the House of Representatives,  Yakubu Dogara has submitted his nomination Form ahead of next years election.

He was at the PDP Secretariat where he said he is still in shock  "I am still shocked, when I recover from my shock I will tell everyone and my people why I left the APC" 

The speaker is the last of the nAPC to publicly declare for another party.  He said he is happy leaving the party  

"In APC, we have a lot of bouncers in the Party.   I would rather be hated for who I am, than to be loved for who I am not"

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, have visited flood victims in Umeze-Anam West Local Government Area of the State.

The Vice President told the flood victims that the Federal Government will support them by providing more relief materials to reduce their sufferings.

He directed the immediate supply of foodstuff and financial intervention to the victims, to cushion the effect of the flood situation

Former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has been named the Director General of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, tasked with piloting the 2019 Presidential campaign for the President.

Mr. Amaechi who is the Minister of Transportation, will also serve as the Secretary of the Organisation.

According to a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, Amaechi  will subsequently announce other appointments into the campaign team as approved by the President.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja met behind closed door with Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria reliably learnt that the governor would be updating the president on latest political development within the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.

The governor’s political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the APC in Lagos State were alleged to have mounted pressure on Ambode, to drop his second term bid.

Amaju Pinnick has been re-elected as the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, he beat the three other contestants to retain his position.

The election which took place in katsina had 44 delegates from states football federation and other bodies; referees associations, coaches and players unions.

Luca Piazza and Solomon Mudege who are FIFA representatives were among the football chiefs that witnessed the election.

Out of the 44 votes the aspirants scored as followed
