A middle-aged woman was seriously beaten and paraded topless in public, after she was caught with bunch of keys she allegedly uses to burgle homes in Edo State.

The unidentified woman met her Waterloo after residents caught her carrying out an operation at someone's home. They also found in her possession, other stealing tools.

Reports say that when she was interrogated by the angry residents, the woman reportedly confessed to stealing from different people with the keys.

Oba Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos has said that the current situation in Kaduna educationministry calls for retraining and not sack as reports have suggested.

In a remark during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, Oba Akiolu said “...this issue of teachers failing examinations in Kaduna, for me, there should be training and retraining of teachers.

“This will make us get the best of them that can compete anywhere with their counterparts,”

A 28 year-old woman was arrested by the Katsina Police Command for allegedly killing her 40-day old stepson whom she claimed to have only given water to drink.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bensen Gwana who paraded the suspect before newsmen yesterday stated that the suspect allegedly poisoned the baby while giving him water to drink.

According to Gwana “The mother of the baby suspected foul-play and took the baby to the Mai’adua Hospital and later Daura General Hospital where it was confirmed that the boy was poisoned.

Sequel to reports that former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim who was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a chunk of the Dasuki fund had been released, the SGF in a statement by his attorney has denied the reports.

Anyim Pius Anyim was arrested in connection with a sum of N520m he was said to have collected from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki during the build-up to the 2015 general election.

Following the surprise exit of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar from the All Progressives Congress, Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has described the exit as a good one for the APC

Speaking with State Gouse Correspondents after observing Jumaat with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, El-Rufai stressed that although they already knew Atiku would leave in December, his decision to leave earlier is a welcome development.

The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, in Port Harcourt, have recovered more corpses and skulls from the den of a former militant leader, General Don Wanni, in Aligwu community, Omoku, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The decomposed bodies and skulls were recovered, in the early hours of Wednesday, after the GOC, Major-General Enobong Udoh, led men of the Division to comb the forest where the notorious kidnap kingpin used as shrine and graveyard.

The Cable reports that Maryam Sanda, the lady accused of killing her husband is the daughter of Maimuna Aliyu, the woman whose nomination into the board of the ICPC.

Aliyu's nomination into the board of ICPC was dropped over an allegation that she abused her office as executive director of Aso Savings and Loans Limited.

She was charged to court on a three-count charge of abuse of office, misappropriation of public funds and criminal breach of trust.

38 points have been identified for the first phase of toll gates of federal highway across the country and the federal government has concluded plans to bring back tolling on highways soon.

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola  disclosed this to the Senate Commitee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency on Thursday.

The minister said that tolling will take effect after the roads have been made motorable.  He added that the gates will be located at the spot of the old ones
