The mother of Leah Sharibu, the only abducted Dapchi schoolgirl still in the captivity of insurgents, Rebecca Sharibu, has filed a suit of N500 million against the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, over what she termed dereliction of their statutory duties in securing her daughter’s release

In the suit, the plaintiff sought N500 million as compensation for the indignities and human deprivations which she said her daughter had sufferer since her abduction in February 2018.

The Federal Government has been urged  to avert industrial crisis that will occur if it does not address the ultimatum of the organised labour.

The organised labour had issued the government a 14-day ultimatum from Wednesday, September 12, with clear demand that the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage should conclude its work within the stipulated timeframe.

Bill Cosby was sentenced on Tuesday to three to 10 years in prison by a Pennsylvania judge who had designated the comedian a "sexually violent predator."

Judge Steven O'Neill sentenced Cosby in a Norristown, Pennsylvania courtroom, capping a two-day hearing attended by about a dozen women who accused Cosby of sexual assault, including the Andrea Constand whom he was convicted of assaulting in his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

The Department of State Services, has confirmed that it is in custody of the Aide De Camp (ADC), to the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari.

The secret police said Sani Baba-Inna, a chief superintendent of police, is undergoing interrogation.

Premium Times reports that the President's wife petitioned the police alleging her ADC defrauded her of N2.5 billion.

The Police had on Friday, arrested Mr Baba-Inna and raided his home in the Garki District of Abuja.

An Imo State High Court sitting in Owerri, has nullified the impeachment of the Deputy Governor of the state, Eze Madumere..

The court, presided over by Justice Benjamin Iheka,  held  that the impeachment did not follow due process, therefore making it illegal. 

He ordered that Mr. Madumere remains the deputy governor.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Olorunnimbe Mamora, as the managing Director of the Federal Inland Waterways Authority. 

A letter signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Sabiu Zakari, and dated 24th September, 2018, said the appointment is with immediate effect.
