A non-governmental organization has asked Justice Okon Abang of the federal high Abuja presiding over the case of Abdulrasheed maina to recuse himself from the matter.

Citing the Judges reaction to the absence of Mr Maina during trial on September 29 and 30 over health challenges despite a tendered medical report from Maitama District Hospital.

Spokesman, of the group Aliyu Maina,  accused the presiding judge of biase in handling the trial of the accused person.

According to him, it is a healthy and living person that can face trial.

It was also alleged that the trial judge has been guilty of prejudicial statements on different occasions in open court against the Mr Maina, in what is described as a manner that suggests a preconceived judgment.

Abdulrasheed Maina former chairman of the pension reform task team is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over N2billon money laundering charges.
