Nigeria has 1483 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 118,138.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Friday.
 
The Centre said the new cases were reported from 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

The Health Agency while giving details of the new cases disclosed that the country unfortunately recorded 5 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.

According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 545 were recorded in Kaduna, 235 in FCT, 127 in Plateau, 80 in Nasarawa and 72 in Oyo state.

Other states with cases include, Delta-65 Rivers-64 Kano-46 Ogun-46 Bayelsa-30 Gombe-30 Abia-28 Osun-27 Edo-25 Ondo-14 Sokoto-12 Zamfara-10 Bauchi-8 Imo-5 Jigawa-4 Ekiti-4 Borno-4 Niger-2.

The NCDC said till date, 118138 infections have been confirmed, 94150 treated and discharged and 1490 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Centre said its erroneously reported one new case, instead of three new cases for Zamfara State yesterday and that today's report does not include data from Lagos State.

The Agency said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
