Justice Abubarkar Talba of the FCT High Court has ordered that former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, be remanded in the Kuje Maximum Prison over allegations of fraud.

He is to remain there till May 12 when a ruling on his bail application will be determined by the court.

The former Minister was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on a 6-count charge of abuse of office while he served as Minister of the FCT. 

He was arraigned in court on Wednesday, for fraudulently receiving N550m bribe while in office as minister.

Balla Mohammed pleaded not guilty to the charge.
