The Federal Executive Council has been put off for today, Wednesday, August 23.

A statement signed by the Special Advicer to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that President Buhari will instead be "receiving the report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, in his office."

Apart from this, the statement did not disclose any other reason for the cancelation of the statutory meeting.

It will be recalled that President Buhari who four days ago returned from a medical vacation in the United Kingdom has been reported to be working from home pending the completion of the ongoing renovation of his office purportedly invaded by rodents.

The Federal Executive Council is a statutory weekly meeting for the executive arm of government but has been postponed a lot more frequently in recent times.
