Leader of the Boko Haram terror group, Abubakar Shekau has been named among the world's most powerful Muslims i the latest The Muslim 500 publication for the 2018 edition.

According to the publication, there were approximatly 1.84 billion Muslims in the world, making up 24.38 per cent of the world's population.

Also named on the list were President Muhammadu Buhari and the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Saad who also made the list in the preious year.

President Buhari and the Sultan were ranked 19th and 23rd respectively. The list publication is a list of the 50 most powerful Muslims in the world.

Other Nigerians that made the list include Aiko Dangote, and JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.
