Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari will pay a two-day visit to Anambra and Ebonyi States this week.
The official Twitter handle of the Presidency confirmed the development on the micro-blogging site on Sunday evening, November 12.

The reason for the President’s visit to the two South East states is yet to be ascertained but it’s coming at the time Anambra state will be conducting its governorship election.

The governorship election in Anambra state will be held November 18 while the Presidency has not revealed a specific date that the President will be visiting Anambra.

Similarly, the President’s planned visit to Ebonyi state is coming 3 days after the state governor, Mr. Dave Umahi encouraged President Buhari to seek re-election in 2019, if he desired.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governor said this in an interview with State House correspondents during his visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Thursday, November 9.

Asked if the President had confided in him that he would run for president again, Governor Umahi said since it was his own desire to seek a second term as governor, he also wished the President to do the same thing.

“Any first-term governor would want to go for the second term. Whatever you wish yourself, you should be honest enough to wish another person the same.

“Since Mr. President is on his first term and I am on my first term, it is my wish to re-contest and I will as well wish the President the same thing: to re-contest,” the governor said.
