A commercial bus driver, Udoka Ezeme was shot by a policeman attached to the Anambra State Police Command over N50 bribe in Isuaniocha in Awka North Local Government Area 0f the state.

According to an eye witness, Emmanuel Nwokedi who witnessed the incident that happened at about 1.30pm, the victim who was conveying passengers from Mgbakwu to Nnamdi Azikiwe University temporary site was shot after he parked by the roadside to talk with the policemen instead of parting with N50. He said the Policemen left the young man in his pool of blood, jumped into their van and drove off.

The victim who luckily survived, insisted there was no argument between him and the policemen that would have resulted in the shooting. He requested that an investigation be carried out to fish out the culprit.

Haruna Mohammed, the state Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the policeman has been arrested and investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident will be carried out as ordered by Mr Garba Umar, the state Commissioner for Police.
