Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the Saturday's governorship election, who is the incumbent, has been reelected as governor of Anambra state for the next 4 years.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the Anambra State governorship election and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu, who announced the results on Sunday, at the collation centre at the INEC headquarters in Awka, the Anambra state capital, said Willie Obiano of APGA won the election.

Gov. Obiano won the election with the total of 234, 071 votes, his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress , Tony Nwoye came second with 98,752 while Peoples Democratic Party's candidate, Oseloka Obaze, pulled 70,293 votes to finish third.

According to the results announced by Prof. Akpagu, APGA cleared all the 21 local government areas in the state.
