The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has resolved to hold its National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The decision was taken at the NEC meeting which just ended at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja on Friday.

The venue of the convention had been a subject of controversy leading the Governor of Rivers state to threaten that he will not support aspirants that are opposed to the convention holding in Rivers state.

Ruling APC will also be having her convention on the 6th of October, same date with the PDP. the APC had announced Abuja as its venue.

Avoiding the congestion and other attending issues may have informed PDP's decision to maintain its Port Harcourt venue.
