At the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting held on Thursday October 18, at the State House Council Chambers, it was reported that the Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state were absent at the meeting.

Both governors recently defected from the All Progressive Party (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and did not send any representative to the meeting which was presided over by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Present at the meeting were Kayode Fayemi who was sworn in as governor of Ekiti State on Tuesday October 16, Akinwunmi Ambode, Abdullahi Ganduje, Atiku Bagudu, Jibrilla Bindow, Samuel Ortom, Abdulaziz Yari, Mohammed Abubakar and Simon Lalong.
