Mr Victor Edoror, the Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly has been impeached and was replaced with Mr Justin Okonobor, a former speaker.

Edoror representing Esan Central constituency was accused of corruption, high-handedness and desperation by the lawmakers.

As reported by Punch, the lawmaker representing Oredo East, Mr Osaigbovo Iyoha stated that the impeachment notice was signed by 16 out of 24 lawmakers.

It was also learnt that the impeachment may be connected to the alleged plot to remove the Speaker, Mr Kabiru Adjoto who hails from Edo North by the APC members from Edo Central senatorial district.

As a result of this, there was brawl in the complex which led to shooting in the air by security operatives to disperse angry supporters who attempted to stop the impeachment.
