Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum has urged the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to deploy capable SARS operative to help in the fight against insurgency in the state.

Zulum made the call in Maiduguri on Tuesday, when he received minister of interior, Ogbeni Araufaregbesola.

Aregbesola visited the state for the first leg of an Inter-Ministerial Stakeholders Engagement on Internal Security & Conflict Resolution in Nigeria Tour.

He Said, “We are not in support of brutality by any security outfit, but to be sincere, here in Borno State the efforts of SARS operatives in the counter insurgency operations need not to be overemphasized. They are doing a wonderful job in containing the security situation in Borno State. They have greatly supplemented the efforts of the Nigerian Military.

Recall that IGP Adamu disbanded SARS on Sunday after thousands of Nigerian youths took to the streets to demand an end to the brutality caused by the dreaded police unit.
