The Dean of Students Affairs at the Osun State University, Ipeju Ijesa, Dr. Adebimpe Adigun, has confirmed the invasion of the institution by men suspected to be Air Force officers.

Multiple reports say the officers from the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety have been terrorising students of the University for a long time.

The latest incident saw the men storm the school armed with guns, cutlasses, sticks, arrived the campus in patrol vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers and beat up lecturers and students.

At least 11 members of staff and students were injured.

No clear reason has been given by either the school authority or the Air Force for the attack.

"Six of the students are currently admitted to a hospital; five were treated for injuries. Two members of staff were also wounded by the military men." the Dean said.
