A clash between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Numan local government area of Adamawa State on Monday night, has left more than 20 people dead. Of this number, more are children.

According to reports, trouble started when a farmer was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The farmers in the community came together and carried out a reprisal attack.

Many of the injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at Numan General Hospital. Residents in the community have fled their homes for fear of another reprisal attack. 

The situation has since been brought under control with the drafting of the military to the area. 

Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Moses Jitoboh assures those affected that justice will be served as the police will leave no stone unturned in arresting the perpetrators of the killings.
