The Lagos State Government today arraigned the Danish man, Peter Nielsen who allegedly killed his wife and daughter.

He was arraigned before Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile of the Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere.

The suspect appeared before the court on two counts of murder, an offence contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos state, Adeniji Kazeem led the state prosecution team at Wednesday’s proceedings.

But the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges while the Attorney General consequently asked the court for a trial date.

The Defence counsel, Supo Shasore, further informed the court that the defence team needed the interim report earlier conducted by the prosecution team for trial.

The prosecution promised to make same available, noting that the state government’s forensic lab would collect the blood sample of the defendant.

In her ruling, Justice Okikiolu- Ighile ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till October 8, for trial.
