The Police in Sokoto State is on the trail of kidnappers suspected to have abducted a pregnant housewife in Katura, a community in Dange/Shuni local government area of the state.

The spokesman of the Sokoto state  Police Command confirmed the abduction to Newsmen.

Assistant Superintend of Police Sadiq  Abubakar says a detachment of the police special force is currently combing the nearby bushes and also monitoring activities in nearby villages to get clues that will lead to the rescue of the pregnant woman and arrest of her abductors.

The police spokesman refused to divulge outcome of its investigation to the public, but says appreciable progress have been made so far.

The kidnap victim is Luba Bello, she was  abducted from her residence in the early hours of Thursday, in Katura village.

A source in the village says more than 5 people suspected to be kidnappers and fully armed, stormed Katura village, shooting sporadically to frighten people, and beat up the victim's husband leaving him with life threatening injuries before abducting his wife.
