The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh has announced that the Defence Headquarters has received major arms for the Nigeria Navy to combat any form of criminalities on the Nigeria waterways.

Air Chief Marshal Badeh disclosed this during the official commissioning of the permanent site of the headquarters of the Joint Task Force, codenamed Operation Pulo Shield and the launching of the Pulo Shield Magazine in Igbogene, Yenagoa Local Government Area  of Bayelsa State.

He also sounded a note of warning to kidnappers and oil thieves in the Niger Delta that the Operation Pulo Shield is well fortified to tackle any form of criminality in the region adding that their activities should not attract the full military presence back to the region.

The Headquarters of the Joint Task Force had been on a rented apartment since 2009 when it relocated from Warri in Delta State to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
