Information reaching HOMELAND NEWS suggest that authorities are claiming that the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau is under the custody of the military forces.

President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to make a National Broadcast on Tuesday.

There are however high level distrust with information coming from the government over the fight against insurgents.

It will be recalled that on several occasions, defence spokesman, General Chris Olukolade and his counterpart in the Department of State Service, Maryln Ogah has announced that Shekau had been killed.

Meanwhile, the opposition APC earlier today warned that the Federal government and the military are plotting to create a fake Shekau in order to take the glory of winning the war against insurgents. The party stated that the  bigger intention of desperately molding a non-existent terrorist is to pull down the party's presidential candidate.

A statement by the party's presidential campaign director of media, Garba Shehu said;

"The fake Shekau might become a tool to blackmail members of the opposition by coaching the phantom terror chief to say he was working for the opposition party candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari in order to link its presidential candidate to terrorism as it had attempted but failed in the past."

If the new Shakau is unveiled, many will be asking who was the one killed over and again by the country's military.
