Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah has tested positive for Covid-19 but without showing any symptoms, the Egyptian Football Association announced Friday.

The  FA has noted that no one else in the Egypt squad has tested positive for the virus.

Salah has not displayed any symptoms, but will enter Coronavirus health protocols and will be unavailable to feature for club and country.

Egypt are to host Togo on Saturday before playing the reverse fixture on the following Tuesday; Liverpool next face Leicester City on November 21st.

A statement from gyptian FA read: "The medical swab conducted on the mission of our first national football team showed that our international player, Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, was infected with the Coronavirus, after his test came positive ... although he does not suffer from any symptoms..While the other members of the team were negative."

Premier League champions Liverpool will now be without their top scorer and talisman for the huge game against league leaders Leicester City at Anfield in eight days time.

Klopp has already expressed concern over players flying around the world in a global pandemic and will no doubt be livid with Salah becoming the latest player to test positive for COVID-19 on international duty.
