Nigeria's Super Eagles will be playing their last match in the ongoing AFCON 2019 today Wednesday, in an attempt to leave the continental football fiesta with a silverware.

It is the third place play-offs with the Tunisian national team.

This two team were squared up after the Tunisians lost to the Senegalese team 0-1 in extra time and Nigeria was beaten by the Algerians 2-1 in the semi-final round on Sunday

The match which will be played at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo will kick-off at 8pm.

On current standing, the Tunisians have an advantage as they are 20 places above the Nigerian team on FIFA ranking but many football analysts will quickly say that book records do not guarantee victory on the pitch.

Nigerians have expressed disappointment with the failure of the Super Eagles to advance to the final with a defeat that further exposed the weakness of the team in the goal keeping area.

Former footballers, including the legendary Segun Odegbami, had always insisted that Nigeria does not have a reliable goalkeeper.

Daniel Akpeyi who has manned the post throughout the competition so far, will have an opportunity if fielded, to redeem himself with a better performance.

If coach Gernot Rohr decides for an alternative, the lot may fall to former first choice, Francis Uzoho, who plies his trade in Cyprus.

Uzoho was the preferred by the coach during the 2018 world cup in Russia but had sat-out all the five matches played at the competition on the bench.
