The Federal Government (FG) on Wednesday, February 17, said all was set to begin repatriation of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon, Niger, and Chad back home.

Sen. Basheer Mohammed, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) made this known in Abuja during the meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on repatriation of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon.

At least 37 people including 10 women and four children were killed when their bus hit a lorry in central Cameroon, police said on Sunday.

Nineteen other passengers were injured on the bus, which was found in a ravine, Ndikinimeki police commissioner Moantsouog Mempou Paulin told public radio station CRTV.

The bus hit a lorry coming in the opposite direction, he said, confirming the death toll.
 
The passengers were returning to the capital Yaounde after the Christmas break, Manfred Missimikin of road accident prevention NGO Securoute told AFP.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for January/February 2021 to January/February 2022 in Cameroon in the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

 This follows an online conference meeting by the Executive Committee of the continent’s football governing body held on Tuesday to decide the future of the competition.
