Enugu State recorded 115 new cases of COVID-19 cases within two days bringing the total number of confirmed case in the state to 675 as at  Saturday.

The state Health Commissioner, Dr Emmanuel Obi, said in a statement on Sunday.

According to Dr. Obi, 35 cases were recorded on July 17 and 80 cases on July 18 with 17 deaths recorded so far in the state.

The commissioner said that the state had so far discharged 360 patients as of July 19.

He advised the citizens to stay at home and follow all the COVID-19 protocols.

Dr Raji AbdulRazaq, Kwara Commissioner for Health, says the state has not lifted ban on religious activities placed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

AbdulRazaq stated this during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ilorin.

He said that although the Federal Government hinted on lifting ban on religious activities in the country, it had however given modalities to all the states on how best to go about it.

Plateau government says two of its health workers have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID- 19).

Dr Nimkong Lar, the State’s Commissioner of Health, made the disclosure on Wednesday at Government House, Jos, after an emergency Executive Council meeting.

Lar, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Martin Azzuwut, said the health workers were among the 15 new cases confirmed on Tuesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
