The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq,  says there is no  form of corruption and inefficiency in the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme under the National Social Investment Programme.

Farouq in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja  said any contrary story against the programme was false.

She explained that unpatriotic persons were trying to give the programme a bad name and image contrary to the reality on ground.

The head of African football Ahmad Ahmad has been suspended by FIFA for five years for corruption, the global governing body announced on Monday.

Ahmad, from Madagascar, has been president of the African Football Confederation (CAF) since March 2017 and was standing for re-election when FIFA banned him for “governance issues”.

In their statement, FIFA said that Ahmad had “breached his duty of loyalty, offered gifts and other benefits, mismanaged funds and abused his position as the CAF President”.

Those named to have taken bribes in relation to the $10bn judgment obtained by the British Virgin Islands firm, Process and Industrial Development, against Nigeria, are  being investigated.

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said this while featuring on Channels Television’s programme, Sunday Politics.

The minister also said some of them were being prosecuted. He put the figure of the bribes involved in the controversial P&ID contract at about $301m.
