Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s nominee for the position of the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has emerged winner of the competitive race.

The former Nigeria's Finance Minister, according to sources from the European Union, emerged victorious in the contest over her South Korean rival Ms Yoo Myung-hee, by a wide margin.

The Council of Legal Education has said that 632 students of the Nigerian Law School failed the Bar Final Examinations conducted in January.

The Council however said 1, 864 passed the examinations in a statement signed by the Director-General of the School, Prof. Isa Chiroma on Sunday in Abuja.

The council, while releasing the results said that a total of 2, 515 students participated in the examinations.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says there is no evidence that face shields alone can provide primary respiratory protection against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Director General of NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, while reacting to the increasing use of face shields by members of the public.

He said “there is strong evidence that wearing face mask protects both healthcare workers and the public against COVID-19 infection and should continue to be used.”
