A Lagos-based Human Rights Lawyer, Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, says the charges pending before the Code of Conduct Tribunal against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, are illegal.

Adegboruwa on Monday in Lagos described the entirety of the process as “unconstitutional, illegal, null and void;” adding that same ought to and should be withdrawn forthwith.

Onnoghen was arraigned on Monday, January 14 before the CCT, following six counts of allegations of failure to declare his assets.

The Senate should immediately declare the office of the President vacant since Muhammadu Buhari who occupies the office has not been performing his duties as president due to ill health.

Lagos based legal practitioner and human rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa made this demand in a statement he made available to HOMELAND NEWS on Tuesday.

Mr. Adegboruwa who had been an ardent critic of this administration said that since the President's state of health came to the knowledge of the public, he had changed his views about the government.
