Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo will on Jan. 5, open his defence at the Federal High Court, Abuja,  in the ongoing alleged certificate  forgery suit filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against him.

The trial judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed,  adjourned the matter on Monday for Obaseki to open his defence on Jan. 5, after the APC closed its case after calling six witnesses.

The APC and one of its chieftains, Mr Williams Edobor, dragged Obaseki to court for allegedly forging his University of Ibadan degree certificate.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has broken his silence on his response to his defeat during the governorship election in Edo state.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress says he won't be challenging his defeat at the tribunal
Pastor Ize-Iyamu spoke after a thankgiving service at Soul Winners Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin, where he told newsmen that the election was not free and fair.

Though he is not filing any petition at the tribunal, he will allow the two pre-election cases instituted against the PDP to continue.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has deployed 1,500 personnel to cover the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections billed to hold on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020.

The Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), ACM Bisi Kazeem, disclosed this in a statement made available to the Newsmen on Saturday in Abuja.
