THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized the international and diplomatic passports of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, restricting her movement to be within the country  pending investigation into an alleged N3billion fraud.

EFCC says plans are in place to  invite three Permanent Secretaries and some Directors of Procurement for interaction over some contracts awarded to firms with link to the Head of Service.

We brought the news earlier about the EFCC concluded plans to arraign the formal chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for alleged concealment of N1.23bn.

Report reaching us from Punch news has it that, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have  arraigned the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Maurice Iwu, for an alleged fraud of N1.23bn.

Iwu was arraigned on four counts charge  before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have concluded plans to arraign former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Maurice Iwu on his involvement in a N1.2bn scam.

This is according to the EFCC’s acting spokesperson, Tony Orilade, who confirmed the planned arraignment in a statement in Abuja on Thursday but did not disclose when the formal INEC chairman would appear in court.

The formal INEC boss would be arraigned at a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on money laundering.
