Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria also known as the Shiite Group today held another protest in the federal capital territory, against the continued detention of their leader El-Zakzaky.

The group also said they are marching in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

They likened the reported killing of Palestinian citizens to alleged killing of Shiites in Nigeria.

After series of warnings  by security agencies and a few clashes with operatives, the group vows to continue  their protest until their leader is freed.

The Kaduna State Government has revealed that 347 persons were killed during the December 12 Shiite/Nigerian Army clash in Zaria. The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Balarabe Lawal, disclosed this in a government submission at the ongoing Public Hearing of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the clash.

Bothered by his state of health, three weeks after his arrest and subsequent detention, members of the Islamic sect, Shi’ites, yesterday, asked the Federal Government to tell Nigerians the whereabout of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife.

In a statement by the President of the Islamic Movement Media Forum (IMMF), Ibrahim Musa, the group said its members were anxious of the whereabouts of its leader.
