The Federal Executive Council has been put off for today, Wednesday, August 23. 

A statement signed by the Special Advicer to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that President Buhari will instead be "receiving the report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, in his office."

President Muhammadu Buhari is again absent at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council which is ongoing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the meeting which started at about 11am.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at Wednesday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, because he was still resting.

The president on the 10th of March, when he returned from seven weeks of medical vacation in the UK, said that his vice should continue to act while he rests.
