A federal high court sitting in Abuja says National Security is not at variance with the rule of Law. 

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba in his pronouncement over the human rights violation suffered by Jones Abiri, a journalist who was incarcerated for over two years without trial, gave a knock on the Department of State Service over records of human rights violation.

The court awarded N10.5m damages to the victim and declared his detention illegal and a breach of his constitutional rights to freedom.

If Amnesty International succeeds in the latest campaign it has begun, very soon, ‘Ashewo’ will become a legitimate profession. The group has adopted a resolution seeking a full decriminalization of consensual adult sex all over the world.

These principles will compel governments around the world to review and repeal laws, where it exists, that make sex worker vulnerable to human rights violation and refrain from enacting such laws where it not currently in existence.
