Angry marketers who used to occupy the forcefully demolished Owerri main market have barricaded the Imo state Government house in protest, demanding to speak with Goernor Rochas Okorocha.

The traders who blocked the main gate to the government house carryng various placards were uncontrollable as the security men tried to ensure free flow of traffic in and out of the compound.

Streets of Owerri, capital of Imo State have been taken over by pro-Biafra protesters. Thousands of young people showing off flags and other insignia of Biafra were seen matching and chanting songs.

HOMELAND NEWS gathered that the protesters came from all the other four south eastern states.

There is heavy security presence but protest has so far been orderly without any incident reported.

Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has been urged by the State House of Assembly to mandate all oil companies operating in the state, to without further delay, remit to the board of internal revenues all levies and rents accruable to the state government as tenement and ground rents since 1978 which amounts to over N40bn.
