The management of media giant, TVC Communications says all jobs in the company are secure.

The clarification became necessary after it was widely reported that no fewer than 250 persons lost their jobs as a result of the destruction of the companies studio by arsonists in the wake of violent protests in Lagos.

The facility located in Ikosi area of Lagos was attacked and burnt down on Wednesday, October 21.

Chief Executive Officer of the company, Andrew Hanlon, in a statement said the media report of job loss was completely untrue.

Brazil’s unemployment rate hit a record 13.8 percent from May to July as Latin America’s biggest economy suffered the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to official figures released Wednesday.

The rate is the highest since the current tracking method was introduced in 2012, and two percentage points above same period last year.

The previous record — 13.7 percent — was registered in the first quarter of 2017.

The Nigerian authorities have canvassed social dialogue between employers and employees in the Aviation industry to prevent job losses.

The Minister of Labour and Employment made the call in Abuja at a conciliatory meeting with airline operators and the trade unions in the Aviation sector to discuss contentious issues, especially pay cut and laying off of workers in the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic.
