Spanish Prosecutors have agreed to quash Lionel Messi’s 21-month prison sentence.

According to report in the Spanish media, the prosecutors have agreed to swap the prison sentence for a fine of €255,000.

The original punishment was for crimes relating to tax evasion.

The prosecutors had alleged that the two used tax havens in Belize and Uruguay to conceal earnings from image rights.

The Barcelona legend was one of the high profile names revealed in a leaked document by Panama Papers last year.
