Former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, has declared his intention to run for presidency in next year's general election.

Dr. Mimiko, who became governor on the platform of the Labour Party, cross-carpeted to the PDP, where he ended his tenure as the Chairman of PDP governors forum.

But this latest adventure is taking him back to Labour Party, where he hopes to fly the party's flag for the presidential election.

All may not be well within the fold of the PDP governors’ forum, as some governors are protesting the emergence of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as its chairman.

The Ondo State governor succeeded Godswill Akpabio last week in a meeting where seven governors and two deputies were present.

Leading the protest is the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose on the grounds that Dr. Mimiko just returned to the PDP last year.

National Working Committee of the PDP is expected to meet on Monday with all the governors to find a remedy to the dispute.
