Putting a crown on a masterstroke, President Muhammadu Buhari has tendered an unreserved apology on behalf of the Nigerian people and Government to the family of the Late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and other key actors of the June twelve struggle. 

President Buhari who spoke at the investiture ceremony conferring special  National honours on the late MKO Abiola,his running mate Babagana Kingibe and the late Gani Fawehinmi, 

He said the awards were not aimed at opening old wounds but were an attempt by government to right the wrongs of the past

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday next week, being the 12th of June,  host major stakeholders in the struggle for the revalidation of the annulled 1993 presidential election. 

At the event, the President will carry out  the post-humous investiture of the election’s perceived winner, Chief Moshood Abiola, as the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic.

It will be interesting for many Nigerians to know that the former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), the man who annulled the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, still misses the presumed winner of that historic poll, late Chief Moshood Abiola, who died in government detention in 1998.

According to the Vanguard, IBB said this in an interactive session with news men in Minna, Niger State Capital.
