The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, has suspended the October 1 ultimatum it gave South East people to leave the north.

The decision to rescind the quit notice was announced at a press briefing held at Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja on Thursday.

The press conference was attended by many Northern Youth Groups, including the Arewa Youths Council (AYC) that initially issued the quit notice on lgbo resident in the 19 Northern states.

All southerners are at the risk of attacks by Almajiris and other restive youths in the north following the quit order issued to Ndigbo by some northern youths. Afenifere has said.

The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation through a statement called for the implementation of the last national conference as a way out of the challenges confronting the country. 

The group noted that the nation has been wobbling and pretending that its unity was settled since the annulment of the June twelve, nineteen ninety three elections believed to have been won by Chief Moshood Abiola.

South East Governor's Forum after their emergency meeting at the government House Abakaliki has agreed to deploy 100 luxury Buses and 200 trailers/Trucks to evacuate all the Igbo families that may wish to relocate to their home states.

The emergency arrangement came following the notice given Igbos in the north by some radical northern youths to leave within three months or face violent eviction.

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Wednesday ordered the arrest and prosecution of the signatories to the statement which issued the threat.
