The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has said he does not trust the police and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to restructure the country so as to end insecurity.

Fayose said this at an interactive conference convened by a Pan Yoruba Socio-cultural group, Yoruba Ko’ya, in Ado Ekiti.

Punch reports that the conference examined the effects of Fulani herdsmen-farmers crisis on food security in Ekiti State and the recent upsurge in kidnappings and armed robbery in the state.

Governors from the Southern part of Nigeria will meet in Lagos on Monday, to deliberate on how to forge stronger ties for the three geo-political zones.

This is coming 12 years after the last one.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Tunji Bello, the meeting which will be co-hosted by the Governors of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode and Akwa Ibom, Emmanuel Udom will address issues that are germane to the development of the three contiguous zones.

Prominent Yoruba leaders in the South West on Thursday charged the federal government to commence the process of implementing the 2014 National Conference report as a template for restructuring the country.

They insisted  that Nigeria must be restructured to reflect true federalism and promote regional and national development.
