Mrs Josephine Okereke, wife of Abuja newspaper vendor killed by a security detail, has disassociated herself from the N500 million compensation lawsuit.

Okereke told newsmen on Thursday in Abuja that she was not privy to the N500 million compensation requested by the family.

She said what was paramount now is how to get justice for her late husband. Recall that on Nov. 23, a letter signed by Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN), counsel to Okereke’s family, had demanded a N500 million compensation from the speaker.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday directed the Lagos State Scholarship Board to award scholarships up to the university level to the children of policemen lynched during the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protest.

The governor also made the offer to take the bill of replacing the logistics lost by the police when he visited the Command Headquarters in Ikeja to boost the morale of officers, following the demoralising events of the past week in which police officers and their stations were targeted by hoodlums.
