The All Progressives Congress will not have candidates for the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections in 2019. The reason is because the party failed to meet up with the time allowed for the conduct of party primaries.

A letter signed by the commission's acting Secretary, Okechukwu Ndeche, said the electoral time table provided that primaries be conducted between 18th of August and 7th of October. But APC failed to meet up with the time.

At least eight people were burnt to death by a mob on Monday at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Zamfara state, following alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammed by a student of the college.

The male student was accused of committing blasphemy during an exchange of words with a Muslim friend, resulting in tension at the school.

An account by a student says that when the accused saw the danger to his life, he ran to a house to hide himself.

That was where the assailants met him, and set the house ablaze, leading to the death of their target and 6 others.
